Stepping Into the Moment

“The more we practice stepping into the moment, the more we realise how precious it is.” – Tara Brach

Something powerful happens when we slow down.
Not just in a theoretical, spiritual kind of way—but in a real, tangible, lived-in-the-body kind of way. We begin to notice. Not just the external things, but the subtle internal shifts that tell us we’re alive and responding.

This is what yoga gives us. Not just shapes or strength, but access. A doorway back into our own experience.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on this quote by Tara Brach. It sums up so much of what I aim to share in my classes and spaces: a return to the moment. A re-entry into what’s actually here, underneath the noise and distraction.

It’s easy to miss it. Life is busy. We’re juggling roles, decisions, to-do lists, the hum of background anxiety that seems to accompany being human these days. But the practice—whether that’s breath, stillness, slow movement, or simply lying on the mat and being—invites us back.

And every time we come back, we remember:
This moment is enough.
This breath is enough.
This body—just as it is—is enough.

There is such deep richness in what’s here when we allow ourselves to be with it. Even if it’s uncomfortable. Even if it’s quiet. Even if nothing “big” happens. Presence is its own medicine.

At the studio, I see this magic happen all the time. A softness around the eyes. A deeper breath. A release of something that doesn’t need to be held anymore. These aren’t always dramatic moments, but they’re precious ones.

So I invite you—today, this week, in class or just in your garden or on the walk to the car—to practice stepping into the moment. Just for a few seconds. No need to fix or force or understand it all. Just notice.

Because the more we do, the more we realise:
This moment holds everything we need.

With love,
