Sound Baths
Rest. Restore. Reset.
In today’s busy world, taking time to truly rest has become more important than ever.
Our monthly Sound Bath evenings offer an opportunity to pause, slow down and simply be. For an hour, there’s nothing to achieve, nowhere to rush and nothing expected of you.
Just get comfortable, relax and allow the soothing sounds and vibrations to wash over you.
What is a Sound Bath?
A Sound Bath is a deeply relaxing experience where you rest comfortably while therapeutic sounds are created using a range of instruments, including crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes and other carefully chosen instruments.
The sounds gently fill the room, creating an immersive environment that many people find calming and restorative.
Every experience is unique. Some people drift into a deeply relaxed state, others remain quietly aware throughout, and some even fall asleep. There is no right or wrong way to experience a Sound Bath.
No need to lie on the floor
If lying on the floor isn’t comfortable for you, that’s absolutely fine.
While many guests choose to relax on a yoga mat with blankets and bolsters, we also have comfortable chairs available. Many people enjoy the entire Sound Bath seated and still experience the same peaceful atmosphere.
Our priority is simply that you feel comfortable, relaxed and supported throughout the session.
What are the benefits?
People often leave a Sound Bath feeling:
Deeply relaxed
Mentally calmer
Less stressed
More rested
Better prepared for a good night’s sleep
Refreshed and re-energised
Many people also find that taking regular time to rest helps them feel better equipped to cope with the demands of everyday life.
What happens during the session?
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into the studio and invited to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
We provide yoga mats, bolsters, blankets and cushions to create a cosy space where you can completely relax. If you’d rather sit, simply let us know and we’ll have a comfortable chair ready for you.
Once everyone is settled, the session begins with a short introduction before you simply relax and listen.
There is no movement, no previous experience required and nothing you need to do.
What if I fall asleep?
That’s absolutely fine.
Many people do.
In fact, it’s often a sign that your body needed the rest.
Whether you stay awake, drift in and out of sleep or sleep through part of the session, there is no “correct” way to experience a Sound Bath. Simply allow yourself to relax in whatever way feels natural.
Is a Sound Bath suitable for beginners?
Absolutely.
No experience of yoga or meditation is needed.
Many of our guests have never attended a Sound Bath before, and the sessions are suitable for anyone looking to enjoy an evening of deep rest and relaxation.
Who leads the sessions?
Our monthly Sound Baths are led by Shon, an experienced Sound Bath Practitioner who creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can completely switch off from the outside world.
Who should not attend?
While Sound Baths are suitable for most people, they may not be appropriate for everyone.
We recommend seeking medical advice before attending if you:
Have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic medical device.
Have epilepsy or a condition affected by sound or vibration.
Are in the early stages of pregnancy.
Have any medical condition that may be affected by prolonged lying down or sound vibration.
If you’re unsure whether a Sound Bath is suitable for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
