New Retreats, New Adventures & An Exciting New Chapter at The Roade House

There are some exciting things happening at The Roade House, and I wanted to share them with you.

As many of you know, over the years I’ve often found myself pulled into the café side of the business. Whilst I’ve loved creating a welcoming space for people to enjoy coffee, cake and conversation, my real passion has always been helping people improve their health and wellbeing through movement, relaxation, community and meaningful experiences.

With that in mind, I’m incredibly excited about what comes next.

🌿 Two New Retreat Adventures

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working with Adventure Geek to create some very special retreat experiences.

We’re currently exploring dates, venues and pricing, but I’d love to gauge interest before everything is finalised.

☀️ Malaga Yoga & Walking Retreat – October 2026

If you’re looking for sunshine, relaxation and beautiful scenery, this could be the perfect retreat for you.

We’ll be combining daily yoga practice with a guided walk along the spectacular Caminito del Rey, a sunset walk and plenty of opportunities to relax, explore and enjoy Malaga.

I’ll be teaching the yoga throughout the retreat, while the Adventure Geek team will be leading the walking experiences.

This retreat is designed to leave you feeling rested, refreshed and inspired.

🥾 Camino Pilgrimage & Yoga Retreat – Early 2027

This retreat is something rather special.

We’ll be walking the first stage of the Camino pilgrimage route, crossing from France into Spain over the Pyrenees and staying in traditional hostels and monasteries along the way.

Each day will include walking, yoga, connection and time to reflect.

It’s simple, authentic and meaningful, with the potential to be a truly transformational experience.

In fact, I’d love this to become a regular part of our retreat calendar moving forward.

If you enjoy comfort, sunshine and relaxation, the Malaga retreat may be the perfect fit.

If you’re looking for something a little outside the box, something memorable and deeply rewarding, then perhaps the Camino pilgrimage is calling.

Interested?

At this stage we’re simply creating a list of people who would like more information.

Simply email maxine@theroadehouse.co.uk and let us know which retreat interests you. We’ll then keep you updated as soon as dates, itineraries and pricing are confirmed.

Places on both retreats will be limited.

🎙️ New Podcast Coming Soon

I’m also delighted to share that I’ll be appearing regularly on a new podcast with my dear friend Julia from Adventure Geek.

Together we’ll be chatting about health, wellness, movement, mindset, healthy ageing, adventure, resilience and the many different ways we can support ourselves through life.

Our conversations will be relaxed, honest and practical, drawing on both our professional experience and our own personal journeys.

Would You Like To Listen?

Simply send a message to us with the word PODCAST and I’ll send you the link as soon as the first episode is available.

Have A Topic You’d Like Us To Discuss?

I’d genuinely love to hear from you.

If there’s a topic you’d like Julia and I to explore, whether that’s menopause, healthy ageing, stress, resilience, nutrition, fitness, adventure or anything else related to wellbeing, please let me know.

The best conversations often begin with the questions people are already asking.

☕ Café Changes

Many of you will already have heard that we have made the difficult decision to close the main café.

The café will officially close on 15th June 2026.

The simple reality is that there hasn’t been enough regular use for it to remain viable in its current form, despite our best efforts.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us, visited us for coffee, met friends here, attended events or simply helped create such a lovely atmosphere over the years. We have genuinely appreciated every single visit.

The good news is that this isn’t the end of coffee at The Roade House.

We’ll be moving to a smaller pop-up style café within the yoga studio reception area.

Whenever yoga classes are running, you’ll still be able to enjoy our coffees, lattes, matcha, cakes and treats before or after class, either to take away or enjoy outside.

The yoga studio, retreats, accommodation and wellness events will all continue as normal.

Looking For A New Opportunity?

The café and restaurant space itself isn’t going anywhere.

If you know anyone who might be interested in opening a café, restaurant or similar venture from the space, we’d love to hear from them.

The area may also suit clubs, groups, therapists, community organisations or anyone looking for a venue to run regular activities.

Please get in touch if you would like more information.

✨ Exciting Changes Coming To The Studio

With more time to focus on the studio, there are some exciting developments planned.

From September we’ll be introducing new membership options, alongside:

  • More workshops
  • More wellness events
  • Additional classes
  • More strength-focused yoga sessions designed to help build muscle, improve balance and support healthy ageing
  • New wellbeing programmes and experiences
  • More opportunities to support long-term health and resilience

There are lots of ideas already in the pipeline and I can’t wait to share them with you over the coming months.

Thank You

Thank you for being part of this wonderful community.

Whilst one chapter is coming to a close, another is just beginning.

I’m genuinely excited to have more time and energy to devote to growing the studio, creating new experiences, building meaningful retreats and helping even more people improve their health and wellbeing.

I truly believe the best is still to come.

With love,

Maxine
